Primary Calcium is contained within materials such as calcium carbonate in ground limestone form, which is 95-99% pure and has a soil neutralising value. Primary sources of Calcium and Magnesium have the benefit of regulating the flow of other nutrients to the plant.
Secondary Calcium is contained within organic materials such as peat, sewage waste and chicken manure, which has no soil neutralising value.
Most other fertiliser products only contain these secondary
sources of Calcium.
